Before you start your online course
Before you start your online course, our EC Live Programme Manager will ask you to complete a Placement test on MyEC. Taking this test helps students get into class quickly and settle into their language level.
You will also see information about your lessons and your class schedule on MyEC, helping you adjust to starting lessons faster.
Before you start your lessons, you can also set your learning goals on your profile helping you to keep these goals in mind throughout your learning journey.
Solo Study
On MyEC, you can choose an area of language study to focus on before you study English online in your classes. There are 100s of hours of exercises at every language level. You will find exercises for your language level to help you with:
- Grammar
- Reading
- Listening
- Tasks for IELTS
During your online course
As soon as your teacher puts you into a Teams classroom, your new class calendar for the week appears shows on your MyEC dashboard.
You can view everything you will cover in the week in lessons with the Objectives, the plan, the outcomes and your homework.
On the MyEC platform, you will be able to see:
- Your level of English at the beginning of your online course
- the number of weeks at your current English level
- your attendance
- the length of your online English course
EC live teacher update MyEC with feedback and results on student performance. You can see your Weekly Scores for:
- Speaking
- Participation and Motivation
- Homework
When you and your teacher believe you are ready, you can take your Progress Test on MyEC. After your teacher grades your results you will be able to see your scores, as well as comments from your teacher
You can then see your feedback about your strongest areas and areas to work on with details on every section such as on the Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading, Listening and Writing, and Speaking exercises in the test.
If you have a Tutorial session with your teacher, a special session to target a particular problem you are having, you will be able to the the tutorial records made with your teachers.
Every progress test your take throughout your experience with EC Live will be on MyEC platform, tracking your English level progress over different progress tests.
After your complete your online English Course
Once you finish your online English language course, don’t forget that you have 3 months access to MyEC to continue on your learning journey. You can continue to work on any area of study so you don’t forget what you have learnt, and if you complete everything at you English level successfully, you will have access to the next level of exercises
